The admin can and will change the rules at any time as they feel is necessary for the game. We will not penalize someone for doing something before a rule is made about it and will announce game-play rules changes on the boards. Once a rule has been made, however, players will be expected to follow it.
Character creation rules can be found here.
Character upgrade rules can be found here.
Rules
- This is a consensual RPG, which means you cannot affect other people's characters without their permission. For example, no flinging people into walls hard enough to break limbs without their permission. This applies especially strictly to more powerful characters.
- On the other side of the fence, in-character actions have in-character consequences. You are responsible for the actions your character chooses to take and may not use the consensual policy to avoid the consequences for those actions. If there is a dispute over what the consequences should be, call in one of the admin to handle it.
- Information available OOCly is not necessarily information that is available ICly. Remember the difference between what you the player knows and what your character knows.
- We do allow alt-character interaction, but try to avoid having threads where you talk to yourself the whole time.
- If your character has dependent characters (cassettes, *master partners, mini-cons), you can only play up to four of them at the same time. There is more on dependent characters in the New Character section.
- People who play G1 characters are not required to know what Beast Wars retconned into the series.
- Different canons have different technology levels. G1 characters do not know sparks from a hole in the ground. Beast Wars characters do not have larger than three-person gestalts. Armada Bulk characters do not have gestalts at all; those are mini-con things. Etc.
- If you drop a canon character, he is available for someone else to apply for. No killing canon characters just because you don't want to play them.
Remember, the overall goal of this RPG, like any RPG, is to have fun. If you continually make the game not fun for others, there will be consequences. If you are not having fun yourself, please contact one of the admin to see what we can do about it.
Unless you notify the admin of a vacation, please check the threads you're in and your private message inbox once every two days. Respond where you are needed to respond, so as not to hold up the rest of the players.
Romance (same-sex or male/female)
- Romance is allowed in this game, and so are physical expressions of love and lust up to a point. That point is PG-13, and anything beyond that should be done off the game. Once this point is reached, the scene should be faded-to-black.
- We allow same-sex or male/female romance as both parties deem fit. However, if another player does not want to be involved in a relationship, do not pester them about it.
- A player who picks up a previously-played character is not required to carry over romantic relationships that the previous player was involved in. For example, Skywarp and Thundercracker 1 have a fluffy relationship, but Thundercracker 2 isn't interested in slashing at all. Skywarp should not pester Thundercracker 2 about this. Likewise, if Thundercracker 3 wants to have a dark and twisted slashy relationship with Skywarp, and Skywarp says "no", then he shouldn't be pestered about his decision either.
Plots
- Prisoner plots can be fun, or they can be tedious. Please have a method to get out of being a prisoner before you get into the plot. (Please also run the method of getting out by a mod first.)
- We will allow some death and/or resurrection plots. They're not going to be done lightly, however.
- Same with desertion plots. Desertion plots also have the in-character actions lead to in-character consequences rule applying. So if Dead End decides to defect, there will be consequences. Motormaster, for example.
Miscellaneous
- We allow subspace, and we allow you to carry things in subspace. The only limit right now is common sense; what would your character honestly be carrying in their pockets?
- We don't require you to inventory what your character has, so if you can think of something useful to pull out that your character might reasonably have, go for it. However, the admin do reserve the right to tell you 'no' if something is improbable.
